Dan Doherty, Associate Faculty in RRU’s School of Communication and Culture, bring more than 30 years’ experience in educational and communication technology
to aid students in developing and delivering an effective message. His passion and expertise in facilitating appreciate inquiry and the use of technology to support communication and learning, encourages peer collaboration, improvisation and a variety of strategies and media to create an active, engaging and respectful learning environment.
Julie DuBose began her study
of Miksang with Michael Wood
in Halifax, Nova Scotia in 1998.
She has been traveling and teaching with Michael since 2000 and is a teacher of all Miksang levels. She founded the Miksang Institute for Contemplative Photography in 2009 in Boulder, Colorado and Miksang Publications in 2012. Julie lives in Lafayette, Colorado. Enid Elliot, PhD, is an early childhood educator who has worked in a variety of contexts and settings and continues to nd herself surprised, intrigued and delighted by children, families and early childhood educators. As adjunct professor at University
of Victoria and a faculty member
at Camosun, Enid has been investigating the in uence of outdoor natural settings on children and early childhood educators.
Marlyn Farrell, DipC. (Diploma in Counselling), CJEA certi cation (Creative Journal Expressive Arts) Visioning® Coach, has taught employment and life skills to professionals, at-risk-youth
and mental health clients. She designs and facilitates programs on Embracing Your Inner Child, Befriending Your Inner Critic, and Career Revisioning, as well as works with individual clients.
Denis Donnelly’s work centers
on bringing people back to the richness of a more conscious
and joyful awareness of poetry
and music. His awareness of the transformative nature of poetry has been enlivened by his many trips
to Ireland with poet David Whyte. The former director of the Victoria Conservatory Denis is now the co- director of the Gettin’ Higher Choir, Soundings vocal ensemble, Royal Roads Music Group, and a frequent music and poetry workshop leader and clinician.
Ken Elliott is a Cowichan Tribes member, inspiring educator and expert in native plant horticulture. He has worked to restore our ecosystems ever since the salmon asked him to help. With a message of reconciliation and respect for all living things, Ken has inspired hundreds of people to learn
about our native plants and the practical actions we can take to heal the earth. He owns Ken’s Native Plants and is a sought-after speaker, educator and consultant in ecosystem restoration.
Aftab Erfan, PhD – Community and Regional Planning, MUP
– Urban Planning, BSc – Environmental Sciences with
a minor in Fine Arts is a Visual Recorder and Facilitator for Whole Picture Thinking. She has worked with numerous Aboriginal groups, Federal, Provincial and Municipal levels of Government along with RRU, SFU and UBC in a multitude of forums and symposiums. Aftab is also an Adjunct Professor, School of Community and Regional Planning, UBC, Vancouver, BC (since 2009).
Shauna Fenwick is an accomplished facilitator,
coach, educator and designer of leadership development systems. She works with individuals to strengthen their leadership capabilities, and with teams and groups to create conditions for optimal function and innovation. She coaches individual leaders and project teams, and teaches in the MA Leadership program at RRU. Shauna often uses an appreciative, strengths-based approach and believes that including diverse voices enhances outcomes.
