Applied Mindfulness
Meditation

Co-certi ed with University of Toronto, Factor-Inwentash, Faculty of Social Work
Grounded in comparative literatures of humanities and social science, traditional and contemplative medicines, the arts and sciences, education theory and practice, business and ethics, this program offered in collaboration with the University of Toronto, Factor- Inwentash, Faculty of Social Work (Continuing Education), is intended to teach mindfulness meditation practices with a focus on its various applications within a wide range of personal and professional domains.
Whether you are interested
in delving into a historical perspective of mindfulness meditation, learning psychotherapeutic strategies, enabling learning through contemplative education, enhancing your mentorship and teaching abilities, enhancing focus through contemplative arts, encouraging mind and body health, developing healthier work environments and communities, becoming
a mindful leader, studying the neuro-ethics of mindfulness, this certi cate program will foster the development of your practice, knowledge, skills, and sensitivities.
There are four levels of training offered
in this program:
1. Level A: Foundations in Applied Mindfulness Meditation (5 modules required)
2. Level B: Applied Mindfulness Meditation Specialist
(4 modules required)
3. Level C: Methodological Approaches to Mindfulness
& Mindfulness Meditation (optional for certi cation, please visit: socialwork. utoronto.ca/conted/certi cate/ MIND/MINDC.htm)
4. Level D: Special Lectures
& Webinars (optional for certi cation, please visit: socialwork.utoronto.ca/conted/ certi cate/MIND/MINDD.htm)
Prerequisites
Levels A and B can be completed concurrently,
but the certi cate will not
be issued until all Level A &
B certi cate requirements have been met. There are no prerequisites for Level C and D modules which are optional.
Exceptions
Individuals with experience
in Mindfulness Meditation
who do not wish to obtain the certi cate may register for Level A or B modules with permission from the Director of Continuing Studies. Please contact our of ce at 250.391.2513
Level A - Foundations in Applied Mindfulness Meditation
Level A modules explore the history and practices of mindfulness and mindfulness meditation, traditional and contemporary medicine, as well as case and research-based practice. There
is also an exploration of the neuroscience foundations of Mindfulness Meditation. Students will be required to complete all  ve modules in order to meet certi cate requirements.

Level B - Applied Mindfulness Meditation Specialist
Level B modules will lead students to apply the knowledge foundations from Level A towards a more specialized focus. To meet Level B requirements, students choose four modules that suit their personal and/or professional needs from the list below:
