DAMIAN JOHN GERTIE JOCKSCH MATTHEW KEMSHAW SARAH KINSLEY
Damian John’s education and interests lie with other humans, the wild, words, and wind.
He is a registered massage therapist, house-builder, forager, ceremonialist, and educator. Being steeped in the ways of wild tracking and nature-based and FN cultural practices, he understands the sacred relationship between death and life. Damien accompanies many  nal passages opening to
the angst, joy, pain, and beauty of it all. He believes our death conversations are perilously overdue, and are critical for becoming more fully human.
Gertie Jocksch, MDiv, DMin, Sister of Charity of Halifax. Her passion for mother Earth has developed into a keen interest in the work of Brian Swimme, Thomas Berry, and ecofeminism. She is a coordinator and facilitator in Programs in Earth Literacies and was Director of
Field Education at Regis College, Campus Ministry and Director of Graduate Theology Programs at St. Mark’s College in Vancouver. Gertie holds a Master’s of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry from Regis College and University of Toronto.
Matthew Kemshaw, MA, has been supporting community food production in schools, marginalized communities, and public lands for 10 years. He has developed community nurseries and school food gardens in both Victoria and Vancouver, and
is currently employed as the Urban Agriculture Coordinator at LifeCycles. Throughout his life, Matthew has learned deep respect and appreciation for the process of decay, which keeps his hands twitching to dig in one of the many piles of compost he maintains.
Sarah Kinsley, MA, is the coordinator of the Embodied Mind stream of the Applied Mindfulness Meditation program at the Factor- Inwentash Faculty of Social
Work at University of Toronto. Sarah serves as a therapist and facilitator at The Mindfulness Clinic, The Centre for Mindfulness Studies and Mindfulness Without Borders, utilizing her training in Mindfulness-based interventions including extensive training in Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy. Sarah is the author of Yoga Therapy: Ancient Therapy for Today’s Body, Mind and Spirit.
Oriane Lee Johnston has co-led Equine Guided Learning programs for RRU Continuing Studies, Camosun College, and Hollyhock Retreat Centre where she was program director for 16 years. She combines natural horsemanship and spiritual guidance in her
work as educator, consultant and mentor, and spends part of each year with Horses-in-Africa wilderness project in Zimbabwe. orianelee.com
Darryl Karleen, PMP, is a project manager and business analyst working at RRU for 13 years.
He has managed a variety of successful small, medium, and large IT projects and is always learning how to improve.
DOUG KERR GARETH KIRKBY
Doug Kerr has developed and facilitated training programs
for organizations in the public, private, and social-pro t sectors
for over 35 years. Doug’s specialties include instructional skills, group facilitation, negotiation skills, performance coaching, supervisory and management development, and appreciative inquiry. Doug continues to explore innovative, appreciative approaches to individual, team, and organizational change.
Gareth Kirkby, MA., is a Webster- Award-winning journalist, media manager, and professional communicator who received his Master of Arts in Professional Communication from RRU.
He has worked in mainstream
and alternative media as a photojournalist, reporter, editor, producer, director of engagement, and publisher. Gareth has also worked as a researcher, public relations staffer, and taught media relations workshops to activist organizations.
