Foundations of Mindfulness Practice (Core Course #1)
This two-day course provides learners with a practice-based overview of the Integrated Mindfulness Certificate (IMC). Learners will have an opportunity to explore the basic principles and tenets of mindfulness meditation while experiencing various core practices.

Mindfulness in Practice

Mindfulness is much more than a recent trend; it is a way of being. The careful observation of thoughts, emotions and sensations is part of a life-long journey to become more accepting, less judgmental and kinder to oneself and others. Held mostly
in silence, participants in this two-day core course will immerse themselves in the power and practice of being present through guided formal mindfulness meditation. Suggested pre-requisite: Foundations of Mindfulness Practice (Core Course #1).

Ethics & Mindfulness
(Core Course #3)
This experiential workshop explores ethics, attitudes and values associated with mindfulness practice. The current trend of practicing mindfulness-based interventions will be explored with an emphasis on awareness of one’s values, motivations and assumptions around mindfulness.
The course integrates current research in neuroscience to explore the need for greater compassion for self and others, increasing
our ability to make better judgments. An ethical framework for promoting mindful cultures in our families, communities and the workplace will be offered. This course blends didactic instruction, self-reflection and meditation activities.

Emotional Intelligence
& Mindfulness
With increasing stress in our lives come destructive emotions that can rob us of happiness and contentment. Through mindfulness, we can learn to turn our difficult emotions into our greatest teachers and sources of strength. Deepen the application of emotional intelligence skills by assessing ourselves on six emotional brain styles. Mindfulness strategies will be presented and practiced to enhance each emotional style and cultivate harmonious states, characterized by greater calmness and happiness.

History & Applications
of Mindfulness
In this course, the history of mindfulness as a universal practice of cultivating awareness will be explored through the lens of various ancient wisdom traditions, including the story of the Buddha and the spread of Buddhism. Learners will trace the history
of mindfulness in the West from the early European intellectual connection to the development of present-day applications. Students will explore the progression of mindfulness-based interventions (MBIs) from mental healthcare and medical settings
to educational and business settings.
Core mindfulness-based practices will be explored, and can be incorporated into everyday life to increase well-being and help manage stress.

Discover the possibility of freedom from habitual, reactive patterns associated with food, and when practiced daily, hone your ability to create healthier internal and external environments.
