Finding Meaning in the
Second Half of Life
A gift of older years is the increased potential for deepening wisdom, continued learning and expanding possibilities. This course teaches life review, repair and completion, and how to become a wise elder. We’ll use specific skills and knowledge that empower us to transform life experiences and live with more meaning, joy and connection.

Fermentation at Home
Fermentation is an age-old method of curing vegetable or fruits for a longer shelf life
and to increase digestibility. It’s becoming more popular as science is uncovering how many health benefits there are associated with lacto-fermentation – another tool to assist our bodies’ ability to thrive! In this workshop, we demystify home fermentation, making and tasting sauerkraut, Beet kvass, fermented vegetables and kombucha.

Herbal First Aid
This course covers basic and safe herbal medicines that can be applied to common first aid situations in the home and on excursions. Plants will be introduced in various forms, including live and dried plants and their preparations to taste, smell and touch. Learn how to best apply herbal medicines to various first aid needs.

Herbal Remedies for Children’s Health
Complementary medicine use is continuing to rise; however, a recent Health Canada survey indicated that Canadians feel unsure about which natural remedies to purchase for the most effective care. This course will provide the knowledge to make informed choices as well as increase safe and effective use of natural remedies for children. Discussion will include common ailments such as colds, coughs, flus, fevers, basic skin issues and digestive upset.
