Jean Singer is an innovative consultant whose dynamic participatory designs set conditions for discovery, learning, and change to emerge on an individual and collective level. Grounded in organizational and group
dynamics theory, her strength lies in the design and facilitation of participatory learning environments. Jean is an adjunct graduate faculty of Organization Development in the Center for Creative Change at Antioch.
David Sudbury brings specialized experience in preparing technical documentation in support of training and development projects. He has a Master of Arts degree in Distributed Learning from RRU and an in depth knowledge of computer applications and programming software.
He has extensive experience
in courseware development, teaching, programming, and project management at Cisco Systems, Inc.
Duncan M. Taylor, PhD, teaches at the School of Environmental Studies, University of Victoria.
His research applies integral and complex systems theory to the understanding of individual as well as societal and biophysical interactions and transformations. In turn, he has focused on integral world views, B.C. forest issues, community and environmental restoration, and the value of wilderness and adventure therapy.
Garth Von Buchholz has been an Internet professional for over 16 years, working as a web producer, web developer, information designer, usability designer, and senior web manager for private enterprise
and government. He worked with Investors Group and the City of Winnipeg before moving to Victoria in 2006, where he launched a consulting business. Garth is a Certi ed Usability Analyst (Human Factors International), and has had articles published worldwide. contentology.com
Ahava Shira, PhD, is a poet, storyteller, performer, photographer, and journal writer with 20 years experience as an artist and educator. She founded the Centre for Loving Inquiry, helping women embrace their passion with joy, creativity, mindfulness, and compassion.
She offers individual and group mentoring programs, workshops, and retreats into creative exploration, spiritual understanding, and entrepreneurial development. ahavashira.com
Soasis Sukuweh is a passionate dancer and singer who knows that great joy comes from incorporating creativity into all we do - from cooking the evening meal to social activism. Her work with youth and adults includes teaching pottery, leading workshops at Hollyhock, serving as a counsellor on canoe trips into the Canadian wilderness and as a lead facilitator for Power of Hope youth empowerment gatherings since 2001.
Joanne Thomson, BA, MAdEd, is
a visual artist, pushing the limits of her medium to include large works on canvas. Her contemplative approach to art is evident in her landscapes, illustrations, and in the Bottled series. She describes her works as “strong images created gently.” Joanne holds a master’s degree in adult education. She encourages her students to explore the creative process through research and experimentation with art making. joannethomson.com
Jennifer Walinga, PhD. In her 25 years as an educator, researcher and consultant in the area of organizational behaviour and learning, Dr. Walinga has seen how successfully the tools she learned in the rowing shell transfer to daily life as she weaves colourful stories and videos throughout her presentation, including an interactive component that shows how physiological principles are just as present at work as they are in sport.
