Discover the wild edible
foods that are available in both urban and rural areas around Victoria with emphasis on foods that are in season. Learn foraging safety and how to identify plants, how to harvest sustainably and the seasonal availability of foods. Harvest and prepare select wild edibles as well as enjoy slide show presentations and lectures that will supplement your hands-on experiences. Please note: the weekend includes walks around the RRU campus with some uneven terrain.

Wild Teas – FIELD TRIP GLNA016
Spend an afternoon walking
the  eld and woods, observing and gathering wild plants
which can be used to make tea (technically herbal infusions – some claim tea should only be used for Camellia sinsensis). The diversity and abundance
of plants for herbal infusions is great and, other than some wild berries, perhaps the easiest of wild plants to incorporate into your food habits. Learn plant identi cation plus wild foraging ethics and skills. Bring a cup and drink in the wild!
