At the Port of Entry
Before you land in Canada, the ight attendant will provide you
with a Canada Customs Declarations form to ll in. You will need to indicate that you are coming to Canada to study. When you arrive
at the airport, you will need to present your travel documents and your letter of introduction which con rms your study permit was approved. A Canadian immigration of cial will verify your documents and will issue your study permit. It is important that you are honest and consistent in your responses.
Be sure to read your study permit carefully and make sure it is
accurate (i.e. your name, date of birth, etc.). Ensure the expiration date on your study permit matches your program end date as stated on your letter of acceptance. If your study permit expires earlier, bring this to the attention of the immigration of cial, as it will be easier and faster to correct at this time.
If your program includes an internship/work practicum (as stated on your letter of acceptance) you will need to notify the immigration of cial of this.
Ask the immigration of cial, in a courteous and respectful manner, to explain anything you do not understand.
