ONCE YOU ARRIVE
Plan to arrive in Canada one or two weeks before classes start. This way, you will have time to get settled and explore Victoria.
It is important to be on campus in time for orientation.
Arriving in Victoria
Arriving at Victoria International Airport
The easiest option is to y directly into Victoria International Airport (YYJ), located 25km from downtown Victoria.
You may pre-arrange airport pick up service through Beaton’s Meet and Greet.
As you exit the airport you will nd authorized airport taxis waiting. For an estimate of taxi prices throughout Greater Victoria please visit Taxi Fare Finder.
Public bus transportation BC Transit is the cheapest option at $5 for a day pass; however, it will require two to four buses (depending on where you are going and the time of day) and may take 90 minutes or longer. Use Google Maps to plan all your bus routes throughout Victoria.
Vancouver to Victoria
The BC Ferries Connector offers regular connections between Vancouver International Airport to downtown Victoria. The entire trip takes approximately three hours and forty minutes. Schedules and fees can be found online where you can also purchase tickets.
Ticket counters are also located beside the bottom of the escalator at the airport Arrivals area, immediately after you exit Canada Customs and Immigration. Signage is prominently displayed.
The bus will take you from the airport to the Tsawwassen Ferry Terminal and will drive directly onto the ship for the 95-minute sailing to Swartz Bay, located about 30km north of Victoria. Ferry schedules and updates are available on the BC Ferries website.
Once the ferry docks, the coach will take you directly to the main bus terminal in downtown Victoria.
While it is possible to take public transportation from the Vancouver International Airport to Victoria, the trip could take more than ve hours.
Seattle to Victoria
It is possible to take the Clipper passenger ferry from downtown Seattle to downtown Victoria. The trip takes approximately 150 minutes.
