Getting Started with Collaborate UltraTM
Getting Started with Collaborate Ultra
is a 90-minute online workshop focused on developing technical proficiency using Collaborate Ultra, our web conferencing platform. You will get a tour of Collaborate Ultra and learn how to use different Collaborate Ultra tools and moderator controls, such as recording a session, enabling features such as chat, uploading and sharing PowerPoint files, and more. This workshop is designed for faculty and staff hoping to become more comfortable with the Collaborate Ultra technology.

Instructional Skills Workshop
The Instructional Skills Workshop (ISW) is a three-day face-to-face workshop that is focused on developing and reinvigorating teaching skills for face-to-face learning. ISW is a participatory workshop that affirms the instructional techniques you already do well, while encouraging you to take risks and try more. Over the course of this three- day intensive workshop, you will learn and practice effective teaching skills to create an active and engaging learning environment for your students. You will see innovative activities modeled by facilitators and other participants. Over the three days, you will facilitate three ten-minute “mini lessons”, give and receive peer feedback, and learn from others’ examples.

Learning Design
for Organizations
This five-week online course is designed as a practical introduction to adult learning design: just enough theory to guide practice and a variety of practical learning design skills and tools. All activities will be applicable to learning in organizations and will enable participants to translate what they learn into their workplace context. Participants can expect approximately six hours of work each week, including reading, online discussion posts and activities.

Online Facilitation Skills for Mediation – Mediate BC
Mediate BC Society and Royal Roads University have collaborated to create a unique online course designed to teach experienced mediators how to conduct mediation online. The content is founded
on and inspired by Mediate BC’s six-year Distance Mediation Project, which confirmed that distance mediation can increase access to justice safely, affordably and effectively. The online learning environment offers an innovative, relevant and powerful learning experience designed to assist mediators in learning how to implement technology in conflict resolution.
