Royal Roads University offers 5 on-campus degrees speci cally designed for international students in the areas of Business, Professional Communication, and Tourism and Hospitality Management.
In year 1, students study the same curriculum and take the following academic courses: Canadian Studies; Earth and Ecology; History of Ideas; Critical Reasoning and Information Analysis; Writing Across the Curriculum; Global Studies; Contemporary World Literature; Finite Mathematics for Business
and the Social Sciences; Technology and Society; and Mass Communication in Canada.
Upon completion of year 1 with a minimum grade point average of 2.0 and an IELTS 6.5 or equivalent, students progress into year 2.
In year 2, students branch into
their speci c streams in business, professional communication or tourism and hospitality management.
In years 3 and 4 of the undergraduate degree, students will take classes with Canadian and other international students. The academic workload increases. Students may undertake
a period of applied work experience, or a capstone project, before completing the program.
Upon arrival at the International
Study Centre, students will receive
on-site testing to verify English level and determine  nal placement. Students who do not have the required English level for direct entry into a degree program are required to take the English for Academic Purposes and University Bridging Programs for degree preparation.
Mathematics upgrading may also be required in the form of workshop tutorials.
