Up Close and Small

We will be painting the ‘intimate’ forest, using small canvases to create vibrant or moody images that suggest the shapes and colour of the forest and undergrowth. Enjoy slides of paintings from forest settings and the various stages of developing an impressionistic landscape painting. Come to know
the forest by walking the trails on campus and capture the ideal image to paint.
Bring your own digital camera, iPad, or phone. Beginners
are welcome.

Painting the Landscape: Forest Vistas and Big Skies TAEA017
Use the beauty of the campus to inspire paintings lled with shapes, movement, and mood. We will use large canvases to interpret a scene of your choice: a distant view, the mystery
of the forest, or the sweep of the sky and water. Observe demo technique and develop
a painting from start to nish. You will receive encouraging feedback and tips. Weather permitting, you can paint outside. Beginners are welcome. Give yourself a special day and experience expressive painting.

For the beginner to intermediate hobbyist or enthusiast, this course familiarizes participants with how to better use digital cameras for close up, nature and outdoors, sports, fast action, and portrait photography. Learn to light your subjects and use a combination of aperture, ISO, and shutter speed to achieve better quality images. Digitally edit your images in post-production software for printing or sharing on the web. This weekend course includes a eld trip with hands-on support to apply new skills.
