Finding a Home in Victoria
When attending Royal Roads you will have two types of accommodation to choose from depending on your preference: homestay or off-campus. Be sure to look into what will suit your needs and budget. We do not have on-campus student housing for full-time students.*
Many of our students choose to live in homestays where they live with welcoming families who have been pre-screened. Homestay can be an excellent opportunity to improve your English language and to learn about Canadian culture.
To learn more about homestay opportunities visit Canadian Homestay International (www.canadahomestayinternational. com/rru.shtml).
If you choose to secure your own private accommodation, there are many options within walking and cycling distance
to campus or on regular bus routes. Options include private houses and apartments, room rentals and shared houses.
Our off campus housing website can help you with your search (royalroads.och101.com).
When selecting a location to live, consider BC transit’s routes (www.bctransit.com/regions/vic/), unless you are prepared to have your own transportation. Royal Roads is serviced by bus routes numbered 39, 52, and 51, so nding a place to live close to or on these bus routes is a good option.
* At this time, Campus Housing is unable to accommodate full-time, on-campus students. Rooms are reserved for residencies for distance and executive certi cation students. However, there is limited availability for students to stay on campus short term while searching for accommodation off-campus.
